COVID-19: Supply Chain Risk Management
After having been declared a pandemic by WHO, the coronavirus COVID-19 has infected over 1,600,000 people in multiple countries, and killed over 100,000 people worldwide as of 11th Marchâ2020.
Besides the obvious health and safety concerns, the global economy has also been negatively affected. In fact, 94 percent of the Fortune 1000 are already seeing COVID-19 disruptions.
Many businesses have gone under, with unemployment rates shooting through the roof in various countries as they try to deal with the virus given the resources available.
One major concern is the effect the situation is having on supply chains.
As a business, we at SP-Spare Parts too, are facing challenges similar to our competitors and contemporaries.
Given the uncertainty of this global crisis, we have come up with a plan to ensure that our products and employees remain virus-free.
Firstly, we believe it is important to take the relevant precautionary measures at each stage for all workers and products.
For this, we are setting up a COVID-19 response team of our own to coordinate with health officials as well as our own top executives to ensure safety for all.
In addition, we are also having our employees work from home so as to practice social distancing and reconciling work and family life.
Next in line is stabilizing the supply chain by calculating likelihood of exposure to the virus and other factors that might affect shipping.
This reorganization and recalibration of our business model under the current circumstances will help make the supply chain somewhat steadier.

While we firmly believe in practicing social distancing, we also understand that our customers may need to contact us for a variety of reasons.
For this purpose, we are ensuring that we stay close to all our clients by making ourselves available via mobile and email twenty-four seven.
No action plan will be perfect. But we are dedicated to being available for our clients and will try our best to cater to each individual.
To ensure that we are prompt and fair in our treatment, we will also be introducing a special protocol for handling orders from now on.
We at SP-Spare Parts value the faith that our clients have placed in our company.
Their loyalty and support in such uniquely trying times means more to us than we can express.
However, we hope that our vigor and dedication to continue working with the appropriate precautions shows our commitment to all our customers.
